Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Welcome to India! Your epic adventure begins the moment you touch down in the capital. Our team will meet you at the airport arrivals terminal and transfer you to the group hotel. Take the day to rest up, shake off any jet lag, and prepare mentally for the high-altitude terrain ahead. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi to Leh (via Flight)
Catch an early morning flight from Delhi to Leh, one of the most stunning commercial flights in the world as you fly directly over a sea of frozen Himalayan peaks. Arriving at an altitude of 11,500 feet, the mountain air will immediately feel crisp and thin. Check into the hotel and dedicate the entire day to absolute rest, staying hydrated and relaxed is crucial for acclimatization.
Day 3: Leh - Rest Day, Acclimatisation & Test Ride (30–50 km)
Wake up for a vital morning briefing where you’ll meet the support crew and mechanics. After allocating the bikes, we’ll head out for a 30–50 km test ride. We’ll cruise along the flawless blacktop of the Srinagar highway to test your machine's handling, practice riding in formation, and visit the unique Magnetic Hill and the dramatic Indus-Zanskar confluence before heading back to Leh.
Day 4: Leh to Nubra Valley (125 km)
The real expedition begins. Ride out of Leh and immediately begin the winding ascent up the legendary Khardung La (17,582 ft), historically celebrated as the gateway to the ancient Silk Road. After a quick photo at the frosty summit, enjoy a massive, sweeping descent into the wide, sun-drenched expanse of the Nubra Valley. Ride through the high-altitude desert to check out the iconic white sand dunes of Hunder.
Day 5: Nubra Valley to Turtuk to Nubra Valley (180 km)
A spectacular day ride toward the edge of India’s northernmost frontier. We follow the rushing waters of the Shyok River to Turtuk, a historic Baltistan village that was under Pakistani control until the 1971 war. The landscape shifts dramatically from dry desert into a lush paradise of apricot orchards and traditional stone houses. Explore the distinct local Balti culture before riding back to Nubra for the night.
Day 6: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (180 km)
We trade the valley sand dunes for the legendary waters of Pangong Lake. Today’s ride is a thrilling journey along the adventurous Shyok River road. The route is a masterclass in terrain variation, you’ll negotiate rocky river basins, active water crossings, and steep canyon walls. The moment you round the final ridge and see the brilliant, deep blue expanse of the 134-km-long lake stretching into Tibet is a view you will never forget. Overnight in lakeside camps.
Day 7: Pangong Lake to Hanle (165 km)
Wake up early to catch a freezing, beautiful sunrise over the lake. Today, we point our tires south, riding along raw, untamed dirt tracks and smooth valley floors right along the international border, passing through remote settlements like Chushul and Tsaga La. As the day progresses, the terrain opens into the massive, high-altitude desert plateaus of Changthang. By evening, arrive in the quiet frontier village of Hanle.
Day 8: Hanle to Umling La to Hanle (150 km)
The crowning milestone of the voyage. Having properly acclimatized over the last week, you are now ready to tackle the oxygen-depleted switchbacks leading up to Umling La. Standing at an incredible 19,024 feet, you will be riding on the absolute highest motorable road on earth. The air is thin and the wind is piercing, but the sense of achievement at the summit is unmatched. Celebrate at the top of the world before descending back to Hanle.
Day 9: Hanle to Shakti (190 km)
We begin our loop back toward central Ladakh. Leaving the remote borderlands behind, we ride past vast high-altitude plains and nomadic tent settlements. Instead of taking the standard highway, we take a rugged, scenic backcountry route that winds its way down into the peaceful, green agricultural valley of Shakti, offering a quiet, authentic look at rural Ladakhi farming life.
Day 10: Shakti to Leh (60 km)
A short but legendary final riding day. We tackle the immense switchbacks of Khardung La, historically revered as one of the highest motorable passes in the world. After a quick victory photo at the frosty summit, we enjoy a long, sweeping descent back down into Leh. After checking into the hotel and turning in the bikes, we gather in the evening for a grand Farewell Dinner to celebrate completing one of the toughest riding loops on earth.
Day 11: Leh to Delhi (Flight)
Time to say goodbye to the roof of the world. We transfer you to the Leh airport for your morning flight back down to the plains of Delhi. Upon arrival in the capital, check into the hotel. You have the afternoon free to relax, do some last-minute urban sightseeing, or indulge in a well-deserved massage after days in the saddle.
